Sweatpants and the Merits of a Heavy Blazer

Two things of note: 1) sweatpants are unquestionably comfortable, and are best perceived as fleece-jersey wide-legged trousers, and 2) a heavy blazer takes one well through the winter as an indoor piece and through spring and fall as a polished, everyday outerwear piece; a threefer—three seasons for the price of one jacket.

I’m enamored with the black and navy pairing on this Oumlil jacket; it’s as if one took the emblematic Lanvin color combination and rendered it in a jacket that is sharply structured and razor-tailored.

And I appreciate the humor behind Margiela’s rendition of one of the most typically formal menswear pieces, the cummerbund, in perhaps the most iconically casual fabric, denim.  It’s a snap-back and it quite conveniently hides the waistband on my sweats.

A lot of designers have been doing this silhouette lately, and it’s definitely sinking its claws on me. That cap is a MUST have.
