To be photographed by a street style blogger is flattering; to be drawn by a fashion illustrator whom you look up to is a delight, and very, very much an honor. NYC menswear’s favorite Richard Haines drew up a sketch of me and my friend Woldy at the roof of the Standard Hotel in the East Village last week.
I adore the casualness and simplicity of his sketches; they look to me like a cross between designer’s sketches and the doodles of your professor that you draw during a boring class—chicly deformed. Here I wear a Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme hybrid blazer-shirt and Damir Doma drop-crotch pants, crisp cotton and loose and light wool, one of my favorite summer pairings. Thank you, Richard!
